WildWood items, including custom handbag designs, apparel, and hats, are one-of-a-kind pieces that will never be duplicated. Each item is uniquely handcrafted using new, vintage, reused, and upcycled fashion materials. Designed to be as functional as they are fashionable, our collection features a wide variety of styles, sizes, colors, and textures.
WildWood was born out of a passion for shopping retail and vintage stores, finding inspiration in art, designer boutiques, and fabric stores, and the joy of sewing to create something completely unique. There is something wonderful about playing with fabrics, embellishments, and hardware until a custom handbag design is brought to life. Equally satisfying is the process of making a new lining or changing the handles to elevate an existing vintage handbag found at a secondhand store, ensuring it does not end up in a landfill. Upcycling, by definition, is the act of taking something no longer in use and giving it a second life and new function. In doing so, the finished product often becomes more practical, valuable, and beautiful than it previously was. For instance, using pieces of an embroidered pillow to decorate the back of a vintage jacket, employing a cool drawer pull for a top handle on a handbag, or embellishing a vintage image printed on fabric to attach to a velvet pillow are typical examples of the upcycled fashion found in the WildWood assortment.

Handbag Care
Protect your custom handbag design from direct light, heat, and rain. If the bag becomes wet, dry it immediately with a soft cloth. Clean your vintage handbags with a soft, dry cloth and gently wipe away debris, spills, or spots as soon as you notice. Use a magic eraser to keep the hardware clean and shiny. Avoid carrying extremely heavy items that may affect the shape of the bag. Keep makeup and ink pens in a zipper pocket or pouch. To maintain its shape and absorb moisture when not in use, stuff the bag with tissue paper. Finally, store your upcycled fashion piece with care in a dust bag to protect its exterior.
Apparel Care
To maintain your custom handbag design, clean it with a soft, dry cloth and gently wipe away any debris, spills, or spots as soon as you notice them. For upcycled fashion pieces, use a fabric refresh spray and hang them in a well-ventilated area to air out.
If washing is necessary for your vintage handbags:
1. Remove any detachable embellishments before washing (such as brooches and pins).
2. Machine wash on a cold, gentle cycle.
3. Hang to dry.
4. Touch up with a low heat iron if needed, but be careful to avoid embellished areas.
5. Do not use chlorine bleach.
6. Do not dry clean.
